The Dana Centre events aim to actively engage participants in dialogue on contemporary science through a range of different formats including discussion, performance and comedy. It is a place for adults to take part in interactive, informative and innovative events focusing on how technology, medicine and engineering influence our culture and society.
Audience research and evaluation have been central to the development of the Dana Centre approach. Prior to opening, an 18 month period of evaluation was conducted to establish innovative and engaging approaches to contemporary science. Evaluation and audience research has been ongoing since the Dana Centre opened in November 2003 to make sure that events are relevant, interesting and appealing to those who take part in them.
This section includes a summary of the findings of Dana Centre evaluation work from front-end evaluation to the present. It includes audience profile surveys, evaluation of individual events and investigations into people’s perceptions and reactions to science.
