A questionnaire allows for more a more detailed examination of the audience’s experience of your event. Not only will you find out their opinions, but it can also be used to see more complex objectives have been achieved. For example, have the audience learnt anything from your event?

guidelines

There are many different types of questionnaire that you can use. For example, self completion questionnaires, face to face questionnaires and email questionnaires. Each of these has its own benefits depending on what you are trying to find out. For more information on the different types of questionnaire available to you, have a look at the Questionnaire Recipe Book on this site.

example audience questionnaire

This example uses an email questionnaire. Email is easy for the audience to respond to, it doesn’t require large amounts of your time, and is sufficiently anonymous to ensure that people are honest! You can also expect a relatively high return rate of about 45% from email questionnaires. Send them out on the Friday afternoon following the event, and again on the following week for those who didn’t reply the first time.
