Research involving animals has been the subject of intense debate in the UK and elsewhere. Often this debate is seen as being only between those 'for' or those 'against' all research involving animals. It is actually much more complicated than this, with a wide range of views between these two ends of the spectrum. The Nuffield Council on Bioethics recently published a report on 'The ethics of research involving animals', which aims to help people think through the scientific and ethical issues that are raised by animal research. Join us for an opportunity to discuss this controversial topic with a scientist, a philosopher and a representative of an anti-vivisection organisation.
