Xenotransplantation - transfer of animal cells, tissue or organs into humans raises many questions. Is it ethically wrong to transfer animal organs into human patients? Surely we should use animal organs when the number of patients needing transplant surgery outnumbers the number of donors?
What are the risks? Could animal viruses in transplanted tissue infect humans? Where's the line drawn between safety and surgery?
