The science of super-small things is rapidly giving us new lifestyle options. You may already pull on nano-treated antibacterial socks in the morning, but what does the future hold for nanotech in the UK? The possibilities seem dazzling: combating cancer, solving our energy crisis, delivering drugs through the skin or into the cells where they are needed but who will control the direction nanotechnology takes?
What's new about nanotech anyway? Nano-scale particles can have new properties distinct from those of larger-sized pieces of the same material. How can we make sure they're of benefit to us? Find out what 'grey goo' is all about and explore the uncertainties surrounding nanotubes. Come and have your say with DECIDE, a card game and policy-making tool that helps you get to grips with the issues before you decide on a policy position.
The Dana Centre is one of 13 institutions across 11 European countries taking part in the DECIDE project. The results from each event will be fed back to European policy-makers.
