What’s the best way to have a green Christmas? As this year’s festive pressures mount, it might be more complicated to buy green than you think. Discover what the most eco-friendly presents are this Christmas and buy them at our eco-Christmas bazaar.

Join our experts to discuss why Christmas can be so wasteful and what we can do about it. Heather Stabler from Waste Watch will share her top tips for a green Christmas and Anna Scott from Sheffield University will give a beginner’s guide to buying green.

Find out the benefits of different ‘green’ products according to our eco-criteria of energy efficiency, reuse, recycled materials and sustainability. Then decide which is best as our manufacturers and designers battle for your vote in our eco-product contest.

Showcasing their products at the event will be:

Anna Roebuck, designer of lightpieces, screens and jewellery handcrafted from recycled plastic bags. Anna’s always on the lookout for colourful and interesting bags!

Peter Martin, creative director of Junkk.com, a web forum dedicated to reuse, repair and reduction. Peter hasn’t thrown anything away for three years!

Lisa Hornor from Better Energy Systems, the creators of the Solio solar-powered mobile-phone charger.

Bobby Pugh, founder of The Hemp Shop and purveyor of all things hemp.

Finally, put your new-found knowledge to the test at our eco-bazaar where you can buy a selection of great Christmas gifts at little cost to the planet.

This event is supported by SITA Trust and Defra.
