You’ve probably got a few labels for yourself - ‘I’m quite shy’, ‘I’m a get-up-and-go person’ - but do they apply all the time? We’re all familiar with the idea of how our moods can change, and now it seems that our personalities may be changeable too.

In her new book, award-winning science writer Rita Carter argues that each of us is a combination of different personalities, not just one obvious type such as ‘ambitious’ or ‘lazy’. This theory could explain some of the contradictions of human nature - for example why we buy things and then change our minds, or behave differently around different groups of people.

So are you a combination of many ‘minor’ personalities, or a cluster of a few ‘major’ ones? Join us at the Dana Centre to find out, and to hear how your different personalities can learn to cooperate. Rita Carter will give a talk about the topics covered in her new book, and you’ll get the chance to ask your own questions.
