How are artists using technology to transform our urban surroundings into art? Join artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Blast Theory’s Julianne Pierce and Greyworld’s Andrew Shoben in an informal evening of discussion as they share their work.

Lozano-Hemmer’s Under Scan, Greyworld’s Monument to the Unknown Artist and Blast Theory’s Rider Spoke embody the approaches artists are using to pervert technologies of control, efficiency and communication.

Can audiences become co-authors of public art? How do artworks affect the way we feel about our cities? Join these leading thinkers to find out more, share your own ideas and investigate the potential of games and new communication technologies to create new social spaces.

Under Scan was originally commissioned by East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and is being produced in London by ArtReach, with partnership support from Arts Council England, Art Lights London, the Canadian High Commission, Haunch of Venison, ICA, the Mexican Embassy, the National Gallery, the Science Museum, Tate Media and Tate Modern and Québec Government Office.
