Can you look at dance in a scientific way? And what would dancers have to say about this viewpoint?

Peter Lovatt, Professor of Psychology at Hertfordshire University and a former professional dancer, brings us his latest research on the processes of choreography and watching dance. From neuroscience and memory, via how sexy a dancer you are to the Artakt project Move Me On - Dance with the Brain in Mind, where Peter was paired up with choreographer Russell Maliphant and other artists, we will be led through a scientific analysis of dance. Commenting on his research, a dancer/choreographer and Marina Wallace, expert in art and science and creator of the Move Me On project, will contrast their own artistic viewpoints.

There will also be a chance to dance your own questions as well as speak them, and to participate in a live dance experiment with Peter and Ling Ling Tai. So join us to experience the science of dance in this exciting new event at Dana!
