A gala opening evening of hands-on experiments. What does our brain do when we read a book, browse the web, use our mobile phones, play a game or watch TV? Artist Luciana Haill will demonstrate with a portable brain scanner and a variety of technologies.

How is the web re-wiring our brains? Dr Ian Rowlands from University College London has designed an experiment that will tell you what kind of web animal you are, and the results will feed into a worldwide study of our changing brains.

What does it mean to have 700 friends on Facebook? Are they really close? And what function do they hold? Dr. Sam Roberts from the University of Oxford helps you identify your closest friends using your Facebook or Twitter accounts, and discusses why connections are still relevant, even online.
